ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ambassador Paul Folmsbee (ret) is a former U.S. diplomat. His father was a doctor and tropical disease specialist so Paul grew up in India, Mexico and places in-between. He has a passion for cross-cultural studies and encourages tolerance for all – let’s try to get along. We are all on this journey together!

Paul focused his diplomatic career on the developing world and hardship assignments. He served in Mali as the United States Ambassador where he spent three years encouraging the government and northern separatists to come together and implement the Algiers Accord. Other assignments included Washington, Haiti, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Switzerland, Kenya, Gabon, Sri Lanka, Bolivia, and Tanzania. He divides his time between Florida and Jamaica, where he runs a small beach hotel.
